The Singing, Ringing Tree - princess with deerhorse in snow before change (by Elizabeth Plaid)
The Singing, Ringing Tree is a 1957 fairytale movie, filmed in East Germany. My interest was caught when I saw a screencap of a girl with green hair next to a giant fish, which seemed to be stranded in the desert. After tracking down the title and a wait with my Netflix disc queue, I finally got to see the film.
I think this is my favorite image from the whole movie.

I have this magazine page in my scrapbook! Harper’s Bazaar did a series of images that were photographic reinterpretations of famous artworks. This was their version of Degas’s paintings.
